The opening scene of Believe, the upcoming TV show created by Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón and produced with J. J. Abrams, is online, and it is brutal. Right from the start, we get a glimpse of the vicious forces that are hunting down the superpowered girl Bo.

Believe premieres Monday, March 10th on NBC.

In the above video, Shaha runs us through a technique for demonstrating the effects of gravitational acceleration, "separating" the horizontal and vertical motion of a jet of water as it moves through the air with materials you can find in a typical lab setup. The key instrument in this video is the stroboscope, which illuminates the water so it appears to be suspended in mid-air. (It's the same trick used here and here.)
