Actor Simon Pegg tweeted out a very close look at the very early stages of his last Wright film. Elaborating on Twitter, he said, "August 2011, me and @edgarwright, one page, whole film. The very beginnings of The World's End." And then he followed it up with a blown up shot of the actual outline. Love the "VALLEY OF FIRE" and "Who Wins?" notes.

Your prayers have been heard! AMC has announced they are officially adapting Garth Ennis' hit Vertigo comic Preacher, to be produced by Seth Rogen, his writing partner Evan Goldberg, and former Breaking Bad producer Sam Catlin. Finally.

Following the phenomenal success of The Walking Dead, it makes perfect sense that AMC would want to add more shows based on hit, mature comic book series — the only question is why AMC didn't greenlight Preacher sooner. But now that they have, there are so many questions: Will Rogen and Goldberg try to make it too funny, or are they going to be as true to the original as possible? How blasphemous will AMC let the show be? (Because the comic is sooooo blasphemous.) Will Catlin be the showrunner, and if so, could there possibly be someone better for the job than a guy who was responsible for Breaking Bad?

Time will answer these questions, but I do feel pretty confident that Rogen and Goldberg want to do Preacher right. Here's their official statement, courtesy of Hitfix:

"This is amazing!" Rogen and Goldberg said in a statement. "We've tried for seven years to work on Preacher and we're so psyched AMC is finally letting us. It is our favorite comic of all time, and we're going to do everything we can to do it right. Humperdoo!"

If you've read the comic, you'll know what "Humperdoo" means. If not, just be assured they're definitely fans of the comic.

Three days ago, a white dwarf went supernova in nearby Galaxy M82. A starburst galaxy, M82 is a popular target for telescopes on account of its brightness. But its newly formed supernova, which astronomers have named SN 2014J, just became the brightest object in all the galaxy – and it's only going to get brighter.

This photograph, which was captured by astrophotographer and astronomy educator Adam Block, was taken on January 23rd. A flourishing star-factory just 12-million light years away, M82 is positively brimming with celestial light, and roughly five times more luminous than our own Milky Way. But SN 2014J blazes boldly, clearly visible amidst the starry milieu. And here's the awesome part: By some estimates, this Type Ia supernova is still TWO WEEKS away from achieving peak brightness.

This thing is already visible in the night sky through a small telescope. We can't wait to see what it looks like come February.
