For the first time since arriving on Mars, NASA's Curiosity Rover has captured a picture of the Earth. And remarkably, if you look really closely, you can also see our moon.

The image was taken on January 31, 2014, about 80 minutes after the sun set on Mars. The distance between the Earth and Mars at that point was about 99 million miles (160 million kilometers).

The Earth was the brightest object in the sky that evening.

NASA says the image was processed to remove effects of cosmic rays.
