Check out an amazing new Game of Thrones poster. Get the first look at an adaptation of Stephen King's Cell. Patrick Wilson may play a major role in Scott Lang's story in Ant-Man. Kate Beckinsale joins the Monty Python crew in Absolutely Anything. And Dylan Neal previews the rest of Ivo's story on Arrow. Spoilers now!

Independence Day 2

Who cares that Will Smith's probably not returning? The important news is that Jeff Goldblum is apparently going to reprise his character, David Levinson, who destroyed an alien fleet with a computer virus he cooked up on his home computer. Goldblum said:

Yeah, they've talked to me about it and I've talked to them about it and they're excited and I'm anxious and eager to see — I haven't read anything — what they cook up. You know, I think they're trying to put it together.

On the other hand, Goldblum also confirmed that he would not be back for Jurassic World. [Coming Soon]

Ant-Man

Patrick Wilson has been cast as a not-yet disclosed character. ScreenCrush has theorized that he could be playing Darren Cross, the owner of Cross Technology Enterprises. This actually works when you take into account that Cross relates to Scott Lang's origin. In the comics, Cross is suffering from the same disease as Scott Lang's daughter Cassie, and Cross has taken captive Erica Sondheim the only doctor who's working on a cure for this rare condition. Lang steals the Ant-Man armor to rescue the imprisoned doctor, in an attempt to save his daughter's life.

Also, Michael Pena is confirmed to be in talks for another major but unspecified role in the film. [Slashfilm]

Absolutely Anything

Kate Beckinsale will be the female lead in Terry Jones' Absolutely Anything. The film stars Simon Pegg as a disillusioned school teacher who is granted the ability to do anything he wishes by a group of aliens watching him from space. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Cell

Here's a photo from the adaptation of the Stephen King adaptation, showing stars John Cusack, Samuel L Jackson, Isabelle Fuhrman and Owen Teague, worrying about the zombie apocalypse that's been spread via cellphone signal. This film is directed by Todd "Kip" Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) from a script by King and Adam Alleca. [Blairwitch.de via Yahoo! Movies]

Lost Girl

A fifth season has been greenlit by Showcase in Canada. For those of us in the United States, this presumably means that Syfy will be airing it, too. [Showcase via SpoilerTV]

The Vampire Diaries

Executive producer Caroline Dries confirmed that Elena would return this season, and that Katherine's actions would have a lot of repercussions, saying:

Elena will ultimately return to the show, back to her friends and her old life, but there will be the fallout from everything Katherine left in her wake. Just when he seemed to finally be getting over Elena and starting to heal, Katherine stormed into his [Stefan's] life and reopened that wound.

Dries also commented on Damon's dark turn:

It's not going to be an easy road for Damon to come back, because what he did was pretty bad. What we're trying to explore is, now that Stefan is moving on from Elena after this whole Katherine chapter closes, he's trying to figure out the next big movement in his life. And since his brother needs him more than ever, Stefan will be the one to kind of pick him up — in a very Stefan kind of way.

Arrow

Dr. Ivo returns to Arrow next week, and Dylan Neal said that Mirakuru is still Ivo's number one priority:

As it's explained in the next episode, it [Mirakuru] will always remain his primary goal. He does have a time constraint in his own personal life as to why he needs to continue moving forward with this, but Slade is going to become a major, major factor in this now going forward. And, without giving things away, Slade and Ivo are now kinda joined at the hip.

He also mentioned that his character's arc will have an effect on Slade:

While the stories intertwine and Ivo's actions now directly affect Slade's actions going forward because of the death of Shado and the choice that Ivo made Oliver make between Sara and Shado. So all of this will seed. The writers of the series have had a long term game plan in mind and this episode illuminates all the question marks of where we were going, why were things happening the way they did.

It's all going to be revealed in the next episode that I'm in. And going forward I have no idea yet what they are going to do with Ivo. He's still there, but there's ... while so questions have been answered, now there's a big question mark going forward with Ivo and I'll be waiting with the rest of you. I'll be going back.
